Alright folks so in order to avoid the confusion known as the “Mac-N-Cheese-gate” (yup, it wasn’t a burger…) I thought I’d introduce to you the Banh Mi sandwich.

Here’s what Wikipedia has to say about it:

The Vietnamese sandwich, sometimes called a “bánh mì” sandwich, or a pho sandwich at times, is a product of French colonialism in Indochina, combining ingredients from the French (baguettes, pâté and mayonnaise) with native Vietnamese ingredients, such as cilantro, fish sauce, and pickled carrots. The classic version, bánh mì thịt nguội, sometimes known as bánh mì đặc biệt or “special combo”, is made with various Vietnamese cold cuts, such as sliced pork or pork bellies, chả lụa, and head cheese, along with the liver pâté and vegetables.

The girls version is very close to the original. We use crispy baguette from the fancy bakery around the corner, Liberté, Paté de foie and pork tenderloin from La boucherie du Rouillon, lots of delicious, crispy, pickled veggies and a handful of fresh coriander to finish it off. It’s freaking good.
